Then she focused on our Museum’s research of Japanese Edo and early Meiji art from our Japanese Collection. She introduced lately published CD/ROM catalogues with themes like Osaka woodblock prints, Joe Hloucha´s Japanese Collection, Tsukiyoka Yoshitoshi´s woodblock prints etc. Ms. Gaudekova would also like to say a few words about the late 19th century Czech collectors who travelled to Japan and briefly analyze why they decided to collect Japanese art and what was their perspective of what Japanese art is.
